A new Kickstarter project, Arist, seeks to bring the convenience of a barista to your home or office.
The system works by connecting a database of website of specially created coffee recipes to a matching app. The app then connects to the Arist coffeemaker and uses the downloaded recipe to make what it calls “the most precise cups of coffee.” The device is also expected to come with NFC functionality which will allow the device to start brewing when an NFC enabled mug is placed beside it. The coffee maker starts at $299 for early backers.
As of today, the project has far exceeded it’s initial $120,000 goal. There is still several days left so visit the project’s campaign page here.
