Today Amazon announced one of their newest pieces of hardware, a voice activated assistant named “Echo.”

Amazon Echo runs on the cloud via any WiFi connection and response to activates it’s microphones when it hears a preset name.   The device is always on, very much to Android’s “OK Google” functionality. Like Siri and other assistants, Echo will be able to add things to your schedule, check the weather, or even tell you the morning news. In addition it has the ability to act as a wireless speaker when paired with it’s matching mobile app. See these features in action below.

Introductory pricing starts at $99 for Amazon Prime members and $199 for non members.
